Welcome to EMA - the Online Support for Ethnic Minority Attainment. This portal has been designed to support all involved in teaching pupils with English as an additional language and for people with interests in ethnic minority attainment.

There are a few different ways to find your way about the site. The easiest way is to use the dropdown navigation menus at the top of the page. To use the menus, move the cursor over a menu title and then click on one of the items from the list. These menus stay the same wherever you are on the site so you're never too far away from finding what you want (and if you need to return to the main page just click the EMA logo in the top left-hand corner).
Another way to find your way around the site is to use the 'Search' function. Type a keyword(s) into the search box in the top right-hand corner of the main page then click the 'Go!' button. Any item on the site that matches your search will be displayed in a descriptive list. Clicking on an item from this list opens that chosen resource. Further help with searching is displayed once a basic search has been completed.
Finally, the resources on the site are grouped into themes (which are shown on the home page). The main themes are EMA News, Media Library, Black Achievement, Professional Development, and EAL & Bilingual Resources. Clicking on a theme takes you to a search page which allows you to search that category by either entering a keyword(s) or choosing from sets of pre-determined criteria such as Key Stage, Subject, etc.
The EMA Portal exists through contributions made by you, the user. Please use either the 'feedback' area (at the top of the page) to send us your comments and suggestions or, if you want to contribute something to the site, use the 'Submit Resource' button which can be found on various pages throughout the site.
