Refuge in Art - A celebration for Refugee Week at Ernest Bevin College

The purpose of Refugee Week is to deliver positive educational messages that counter fear, ignorance and negative stereotypes of refugees through arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and promote understanding about the reasons why people seek sanctuary.

Refugee Week was created in response to the increasingly negative perceptions of refugees and asylum seekers held by the general public in Britain. It remains the only UK-wide event that promotes the importance of sanctuary and the benefits it can bring to both refugees and host communities.

Ernest Bevin College Beechcroft Road, Tooting, London, SW17 7DFhas joined the celebration, and the whole college is involved!

We would like to invite you to our Performance and Exhibition on Tuesday June 24th 4:30-6:30pm

Students will perform a theatre piece, recite poetry and exhibit paintings and portraits - all done in partnership with outside organisations and artists.

This will be followed by refreshments.

Seats are limited so please reserve either by e-mail, post or telephone marking your mail Refuge in Art mail@ernestbevin.wandsworth.sch.uk or post to: Ernest Bevin College Beechcroft Road, Tooting, London, SW17 7DF or telephone 020 8672 8582
