The DCSF are organising 2 listening events in February.
Entitled Equality objectives and priorities, they will take place at Moorfoot, Sheffield S1 4PQ, Thursday 4 February 2010, 9.30 - 4.00, and Sanctuary Buildings, Westminster SW1P 3BT, Tuesday 23 February 2010, 9.30-4.00
This is the third occasion on which the DCSF has hosted a pair of events with a view to providing a forum for those with a keen interest in equality issues to share their thinking and identify good practice, and put their views and concerns to the Department itself.
This invitation has been circulated firstly to colleagues who attended the Sheffield DCSF equality event last year. A parallel invitation has also been sent out to colleagues who attended the London event. Also, invitations will be sent both to DCSF colleagues and to additional colleagues in advocacy and community organisations. The attached paper entitled Background and Aims shows the principal topics and questions with which the 2010 events will be concerned.
Please confirm whether you are able to take part in either of these events. Should you be unable to attend yourself, please advise others colleagues of the opportunity to attend.
Please return the delegate information form as soon as possible, and in any case by Monday 25 January in the case of Sheffield and Monday 15 February in the case of London. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, though bearing in mind the need to ensure an appropriate balance between local authorities, third sector organisations and DCSF officials.
